Woo! Xmas's over! Quite some time's gone without blogging...and quite some events too. Okay, firstly on the 13th of dec i got kicked out of superstar...shan't go into much details since it was some time ago. All right, it's round 3, only about 50 plus contestants left, i wasnt having much hope that i could make it thru, but i'll be happier if i could lah. i was third last contestant for girls, and my poor supporters stand out there waiting for my turn until their legs went jelly lah...my dad even took a day off frm his job. but i think i disappoint my supporters. They waited quite long for my turn, but my performance...the judges thot it sux. It's about my norm standard, but the judges juz said i chose the wrong song, and full-stop. very nice of them rite. But i was so very touched! Some of my supporters werent very close to me, but they came and cheered! Though the cheers i got werent the loudest, i thot it was loud already...i was so moved. Thank you so much, my friends!!! :D The FIR singing sensation from HCI, cheeyang, got in. I heard from my cousin (he's my cousin's friend) that he had a makeover, and he thinks his new hairdo sux, and he had to go to mediacorp everyday for superstar stuff! Whoa, tough work.
Well, what can i say? May the best man wins the contest.
Perhaps it's God's will, that leaves me more time to enjoy the hols! I was able to attend the xmas services! The sermon was soooo touching...it was one touching sermon i havent heard for some time. Pastor Jeff's great! I'm glad i've attended the same service both! The drama was great too. Xiang Yu delivered such a fine performance. And i bought Su Yi and Youxin to the xmas eve service! They also seemed to be very touched by the sermon...God's love for us is so incredible. But they didnt convert...Youxin said she dont wanna become a christian now and for Su Yi, i guess it's cuz of her religious family. Well, i believe at least a seed was sowed into their hearts! Youxin and Su yi, come for the 10 Jan service, okay? :)
The carolling at old folk's home on xmas eve was meaningful. We were hours late! The person in charge thot we werent coming, and we feel so paiseh...the visiting hours are actually over liao! But we were allowed in still...and carolled from 3rd lvl to 1st lvl. We were quite awkward at first, but soon become more and more natural, and more cheerful and warm too! Many of the old folks enjoyed our singing! They even moved, singed or clapped along...I think it's such a meaningful xmas present for them this year! Many of us were also so happy that day that jie min said she's gonna take care of her parents next time for sure, even if her parents dont want her anymore, which is quite impossible lah, lolz! I feel motivated to take good care of my parents next time too :)
Watched The Chronicles of the Narnia: The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe. Quite nice storyline! It was absolutely symbolic. The storyline is based on friendship, love, forgiveness and trust. Well, the four siblings, cant rmb the names, but they chance upon this wardrobe which leads them into a magical world of narnia. And, Edmund, the 2nd youngest sibling, betrayed his siblings and some friends they've made in Narnia, and because of this betrayal, some had died, and some were put in a very dangerous position. Then Edmund was held captive by the Witch of Narnia. Oh, btw there's a saying that 2 sons and 2 daughters of Adam(meaning 2 guys and 2 girls) will be able to destroy the evil rule of the Witch of Narnia, and restore Narnia into peacefulness. The rest of the siblings met Aslan, which is the 'good guy'. And Aslan, is the Lion. The Witch wanted to kill Edmund, but the Lion willingly exchanged his life for Edmund's even though Edmund had betrayed pple so horribly, all becuz of love. He went to the Witch alone, was mocked and persecuted at, and never even defend himself despite having the strength to. So, the Witch killed him, and then went to war against the siblings. However, the next day the Lion ressurrected! The Lion gave life to all that the Witch had killed, and then moved on to destroy the Witch. There was victory, then Peter, the eldest of the siblings were crowned as king of Narnia. Finally, the siblings went back thru the wardrobe back into the real world. The end.
Doesnt the Lion reminds us of somebody great and forgiving? Bingo, it's Jesus! Jesus is ABSOLUTELY holy, and ABSOLUTELY sinless, and yet out of great love, he willingly exchanged his life for sinners' lives, which are us. He was mocked, persecuted, had the strength to protect himself but never did so. He died for our sins, washing off our debts. But, He ressurrected and there was victory over the Devil! Glory to the Lord forever!
It's a great movie. People out there who havent watch it, pls do so. It's really meaningful, and even u werent interested in the cruxifion of Christ, it has great literature value too. Highly recommended by Lay Wang =)
